Stolen comment from the article, which exactly reflected my thinking on this story:

    [Reads the headline]

“Hmm, that sounds bad. Maybe it was slightly better with context?”

    [Reads the post.]

“Ah no, context actually makes it worse.”

Yeah I was expecting a some sort of out of context thing as I didn’t think anyone would out themselves as as a twat so publicly… but he did so there it is.

He would have been better off just saying “I wanted to write about people I’m interested in and am friends with”. Instead of literally questioning the articulacy of figures like Joni Mitchell (of all people) in the media…

It was kind of intuitive over the years; it just fell together that way.

So he’s intuitively racist and sexist. Got it.

I’d like to see him discuss politics with Killer Mike, see if he can articulate at a high enough level 😐

Apparently he cannot seem to accept the fact that he’s basically irrelevant at this point. There have been a few publications about him in recent years, including a biography by Joe Hagan, and then Wenner’s own follow up memoir on himself. That he allegedly spent half his life in the closet and kissing up (sometimes literally) to half of the rock world (if we are to believe Hagan on this…) seems to not have given him enough attention, so of course: here come the completely asinine/inappropriate/racist/sexist comments like these. I am not a fan of cancel culture, but in this case I am happy to indulge…
