minus-squareregbin_@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·1 year agoYou can choose not to use it even if Linux supports it.
minus-squareregbin_@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·1 year agoThen I really don’t see how it’s a plus. Smaller kernel size? lol
minus-squareEl Barto@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·1 year agoThe plus is that I don’t even need to think about it. My phone tries to trick me to enable fingerprint authentication every few months. My laptop? Perfection.

minus-squareEl Barto@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up15arrow-down5·edit-21 year agoWhere to start… My dumb TV doesn’t support smart features. A plus. My coffee maker doesn’t support wifi. A plus. My games don’t support in-app purchases. A plus. My windows 10 laptop (did you read that?! Whaaat, I’m not a Linux user???!!!) doesn’t support Windows 11. Major plus. My MacBook’s OS version (no way!!!) doesn’t support unnecessary FaceTime features. A plus.
minus-squaresmort@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4arrow-down1·1 year agoWhat TV did you get that doesn’t have smart features? I looked, but all the ones I could find were 1080p, no HDR, and either tiny or made for commercial/industrial installation.
minus-squareEl Barto@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5·1 year agoI got a Sceptre one a few years ago. Okay quality, terrible speakers (though an external soundbar takes care of that.)

minus-squareAlex@feddit.rolinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4arrow-down1·1 year agoYou could just disable fingerprint login, though.
minus-squareEl Barto@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4arrow-down1·1 year agoSure, but that’s not the point of the conversation. The point is that some stranger is judging a whole community for the preference of one single person who may or may not belong to said community.

You can choose not to use it even if Linux supports it.
Yup. I know that.
