It has been a while since I’ve played it, I’m downloading it again now on my Deck, I was wondering if anyone else saw this and could tell me how it runs? Is it playable?

This runs incredibly well on the SD. EAC works, smooth 60 fps with minimal drops on recommended settings. Game freezes on exit, but that’s a non issue to me. Didn’t expect that from Microsoft lol

That’s amazing! Does multiplayer works too?

I wonder what’s the Microsoft plan, first Halo now Gears it looks like they care about Steam Deck but why?

Good question about MP, I just tested it on the SD but no luck unfortunately: GoW services not available. At least EAC loads correctly on startup, so it shouldn’t be too hard to fix.

I tried it on my Arch Linux machine and multiplayer did not work. I would assume its the same on the Steam Deck. Seems like they didn’t get EAC working yet.

Great way to increase sales for old games with minimal effort.

We got a single remake, I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft were finishing the rest to release as a collection like MCC.

Nice! Not my style of game, but I’m always happy to see older games getting some love

I remember playing hours and hours and hours of Gears 1 way back in the day. One of my favorite games of all time. I’ll have to give Gears another try now!
