Goddamn how old is this video now? I remember watching it on some wacky ass website full of silly videos because YouTube hadn’t been invented yet.

I love Lemmy’s love for Technology Connections. It just feels so right!
That was a good article with lots of great sources. But my tinfoil hat is telling me that all of these large companies demanding return to office aren’t doing it because “beliefs”. They’re doing it because the people have gained too much power in the last few years and this is the strategy to put them back in their place. Lay people off in hordes while interest is skyrocketing and demand more from them if they want to keep their jobs. Make them afraid and vulnerable so we can control them better. But again… that’s the tinfoil hat talking.
It’s framed very inaccurately in the news as well. You’ll see articles about how ford reports people aren’t buying their electric lineup. Meanwhile the dealership is marking them up so high that they are now priced too high for the target market. But the articles never mention that part
I just found out yesterday that you can’t cast from a pixel to a fire stick. It was the first time I tried and I thought it was broken. Nope, just Google being petty.
Bold claim when you remember all of the horrific UI that car manufacturers utilized before everyone started using Apple and Google’s UI. Sometimes I have to borrow an old car from someone and you just can’t find anything. Really, I’m more in favor of bringing back physical buttons for all basic functions, but a good UI will not only make it quick and easy to say change to the next song or view trip details, but it will also prevent you from performing more complicated tasks while in motion. We’ll see what GM’s solution is, but I have little faith.
I generally try to check every few years to see if they sell to the US yet. Last I checked they would finally ship FP4 to the US, but it will only work on T-Mobile :/ gonna check back in a few more years.
It is the same guy. He used to just have the 1 channel Wendover Productions. Then he started experimenting with smaller form videos by going through a Wikipedia page and making videos about the weird topics on the page. The videos were successful enough that he made a separate channel dedicated to these shorter videos and that’s Half as Interesting. He has a couple other channels too, but he rarely posts on them because most of his other content is now on Nebula.
I was in the market for a tablet during the pandemic and was very frustrated with the options. I needed something we could use on an exercise bike and switch between users easily. We were looking at one of the Galaxy models that was $900 and I think we decided it just wasn’t worth it for a glorified tv that doesn’t do half the things we wanted. So this is $400 cheaper and does literally everything we want it to. I also don’t have smart devices, but I’m stoked just to have an android tablet that isn’t overly complicated.
So we’re posting classics today huh?
