The hell does that mean? They are a shithead CEO, doesn’t need to be more than that.

I’m with you in the long term.
I am curious what kernel is backing the computers on the stuff SpaceX is doing. I’ve never seen their consoles but I am guessing we are closer to modern reusable hardware and software than we were before. When niche applications like that keep getting more diverse, i bet we will get more open specifications so everything can work together.
But again I am more pessimistic and think 50 years would be relatively early for something like that.
Yeah, I guess in my fantasy I was Assuming that windows would do a full rewrote and adopt the unix abi, but I know that wouldn’t happen.
Mainstream is about to collapse. The exploitation nonsense is faltering. Open source is emerging as the only legitimate player.
I’m a die hard open source fan but that still feels like a stretch. I remember 10 years ago we were theorizing that windows would get out of the os business and just be a shell over a unix kernel, and that never made it anywhere.
I will vote and scream and cry against it, but Boeing is likely too big to fail. Boeing and Airbus are the only game in town (in the west).
I agree with you, but nothing he workers asked for seems to do any of that. Rather it will “balloon” payroll and the c suite will look for ways to make their money. This is all assuming that boeing has been doing what other companies have been, and focusing on stock buybacks and getting money back to shareholders.
I use chatgpt for most of my non technical copy. It didn’t a decent job on my resume too, though it lied… A lot. So had to clean it up
I am generating markdown tables with a Json file and a GitHub action that builds a markdown table for me lol I just learned today that I have to upskill on QA more and lead some organizational change. Reading tense technical manuals on testing is my nightmare
Are there things we can do to take advantage of this? Even on my meds I struggle to write my documentation, but the initial period of trying to find a solution and making a working POC is so great
This is such a strange reality to live in. All of the futuristic, dystopian fiction I have consumed has the same premise that people living in the dystopia know it and know it’s bad. Somehow reality is worse.
I am so numb to outrage that this just seems… Meh. What happened to me.
I liked the public ledger of contracts idea someone had. You use the public block chain to sign and store stuff like mortgages, that way everyone sees the same copy.
I think AI is falling into disillusionment and Quantum Computers feel at least 10 years behind.
:(. Is that why a crossfade is so relaxing? I can actually concentrate on one thing at once?
This looks great. My Chromecast just died so I replaced it with a Google TV Chromecast thing, so I don’t have the bootloader exploit. Gonna look at the “unofficial” exploits they mention soon.
Does lineage let you cast to it through?
Yeah that’s what I may have to do, but casting from my phone is so nice. And anyone on my wifi can do it
I linked it somewhere else here but look up NymphCast on GitHub. It looks great and I don’t mean to cast aspersions on the another, I just haven’t spent time learning how to use it.
The new Chromecast TV bullshit makes it a bit more complicated, but the article also says that Google is making changes.
I agree with you though, I have used a Chromecast as my main way to get stuff on my TV for years and years. I don’t want them to complicate it or make me sign in to it, etc.
https://github.com/MayaPosch/NymphCast this exists. I built a proxmox server and patched qemu so I could have a gaming virtual machine, and yet that repo looks like more work than I want to do 😅
I didn’t read it as humour I read it as a threat or perhaps a dig on trans folks?
Regardless I didn’t need to escalate.
