thats why I want misskey the emoji reactions to anything are always more fun than just likes
yep its horrible really should start suggesting discord servers move to lemmy, self host their own, a lot of them would be better off with a forum like structure, but lemmy isnt easily crawlable either, everyone hates being searchable
wiki + ai search = discord except ppl are the ai remembering stuff said in the chat lol, reddit + google was once good, nowadays I click on the other results since the reddit reply is its already been answered use google
im glad i didnt even try eink, i just went to best buy tried the cheapest tablets and the s9 fe works perfectly for me, wanted to like the p12 lenovo but the brightness was terrible on it, couldn’t see shit. I think id be dissapointed in my reading experience if eink is so much nicer, i like having options to watch media and do other stuff
It worked for school stuff well, I always added "prioritize factual sources with .edu " or something like that. Specify that it is for a research paper and tell it to look for stuff how you would.
I got you guys, lets start with daily standup to get everyone on the same page.
Google used to be good, but this is far superior, I used bings chatgpt when I was in school idk whats good now (it only gave a paragraph max and included sources for each sentence)
It was hella useful for research in college and it made me think more because it kept giving me useful sources and telling me the context and where to find it, i still did the work and it actually took longer because I wouldnt commit to topics or keep adding more information. Just dont have it spit out your essay, it sucks at that, have it spit out topics and info on those topics with sources, then use that to build your work.
I felt it happen realtime everytime, I still use it for questions but ik im about to not be able to think crtically for the rest of the day, its a last resort if I cant find any info online or any response from discords/forums
Its still useful for coding imo, I still have to think critically, it just fills some tedious stuff in.
I pay 7$ monthly for 8 core 16gb ram littlecreek, yunohost for free, installed lemmy on it, works solid, use like 10% of the resources with friendica also on the server lol That site looks insanely expensive monthly.
wdym hes on programming.dev
If you can find the original post try to crosspost it so ppl can see the original thread and get context
I only thought it would be an issue my first week of Lemmy, using it for a month now I really like the smaller community.
Think it was changed to include upvotes/downvotes. Could be wrong, saw it on a similar thread.
Like, they’ll answer everything but your question, tell you how you’re wrong and should do something else entirely, here they read your question all the way and actually answer it
You know how on reddit people comment to tell you to google, argue, etc. Here they just answer the question or move on, it’s wonderful.
Suprisingly better for actual conversation, reddit would be like screaming into a void sometimes, any topic you’re interested in if it doesn’t already have a community, make one from a popular general purpose instance and start posting, people will reply and see it, and it’ll potentially hit the front page equivalent letting more eyes see it. Reddit was no longer showing me interesting niches, I had to already know about it to find a sub and get it on my feed, so many interesting subs I only learned about because I got into the hobby outside of reddit have more potential to be visible on the main feed here. Reddit algorithm right now is a roller coaster, this feels more like reading a newsletter, old reddit.
If you want to be unique start using friendica lmao
What I loved about twitter was the algorithim at its peak before musk bought it
