If it recognizes me it would know my ad preference is none. What is it with paid items/subscriptions and ads? I already paid. Fuck off. If I see paid stuff with ads I go out of my way to not use it.
Love me some old games.

Maybe we need a law to know which laws to follow.
Not sure. But he does have a down arrow imprint on his forehead.
Dutch guy here,
We have some, but in my opinion: Racoon They aren’t my style, but this is in my opinion a beautiful song. And this song single handedly changed them from a one-hit wonder, into one of the biggest bands in my country. The guitar part is notoriously hard, and the singer might be one of the best in our pop charts.
I’ve tried unattended-upgrades once. And I couldn’t get it to work back then. It might be more user friendly now. Or it could just be me.
Is there a way to remove having to enter my password for everything?
Wake computer from Screensaver? Password.
Install something? Password.
Updates (biggest one. Updates should in my opinion just work without, because being up to date is important for security reasons)? Password.
I understand sudo needs a password, but all the other stuff I just want off. The frequency is rediculous. I don’t ever leave my house with my computer, and I don’t want to enter a password for my wife everytime she wants to use it.
The feature my company uses is the future of the field I work in. Not saying they are wrong, just that it’s not really news that they have that opinion.
It’s illegal, at least in my country, to use your camera to keep an eye on your employees. You can only view it in case of illegal activities, for example something being stolen, etc. You also cannot save the footage for more than a certain amount of time, unless it needs to be used for an investigation of said illegal activities. I think it was 2 weeks, but I’m not sure.
Using the camera to check up if your employees are working is illegal.
I agree. But the post I replied to literally describes a way for the employer to spy.
Rather than the employer spying, how about we keep the timer local on the vehicle. You don’t even need GPS for that either. Vehicle on, timer starts. Beeping after set amount of time. Beeping gets louder for every 10/15 minutes ignored. Insert an alucap condensator and resistor to not reset the timer after a certain amount of time.
But I have no experience with truckers or their vehicles. So I might as well just be talking out of my ass.
It’s illegal to spy on your workers through a camera in most EU countries. Why should GPS tracking be legal?
Always love to see moonic. Especially his “in the style of system of a down” videos.
But the fines are usually peanuts compared to the profits, so chances are the pigboy is going to sell.
Yeah, it’s bleeding over to lemmy too when you browse by new.
Well, most are run by 1 person or a small team. None have profits. Some have donation pages, and that’s it. So they are exempt by definition.
I agree. Though off-brand batteries can be a good replacement, if you find a reputable brand. I’ve replaced my battery with a bigger capacity off-brand battery, and it’s been working like a charm for 4 years now.
No problem. Good to know that information
If you go web browsing and text editing just get a 2nd hand one. Most laptops can do that. I would just replace the HD with an SSD if it doesn’t have one.
I have an old hp laptop of 12+ years. But hp is a bitch to replace the HDD. So that was an adventure.
I didn’t know that, thanks.
I thought it was coincidental that behind the Bastards was covering this subject in the show this week, then I saw the author. It’s Robert Evans, the host. I guess if you want more information for this, listen to this week’s podcast of behind the Bastards, I guess.
Thanks. I hate it
