Could be, though it’s a little clunky to use it that way still. You can subscribe to Lemmy communities from mastodon but you will see every comment as a ‘toot’ and it’s a bit of a clusterfuck to view larger subs that way. It can be great for smaller ones though. I have seen people post and comment here from mastodon but that platform seems like it is built more for following individual accounts and hashtags. Kbin has more capability in the microblogging dept. if that’s what you’re looking for.
Yeah people tend to spew information because they’re excited about the fediverse but it’s really not complicated to actually use.
You’re on it bro, I’m on kbin browsing this post. We can all see and talk to each other.
Thoughtful consideration is the most I could have hoped for. Thanks Ernest, keep being awesome :)
I understand your point but you also have the freedom to just go join threads yourself without the rest of us having to deal with the nonsense that it will bring here to kbin. I honestly don’t see how this could end up a net positive for the verse.
Hi Ernest, any thoughts on whether kbin will be federating with threads or not?
I’ve always assumed every part of the internet to be tracked and logged somehow. What I take issue with is the use of that data to shove targeted ads down my throat at every opportunity.
I was able to follow your pixelfed account through kbin but not your mastodon. Weird because I can follow my own mastodon account.
For those curious, this is the album “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea” by Neutral Milk Hotel. It is a fantastic listen if you feel the vibe.

That is true but I would like to point out that lemmy.world just grew by 40% in the last 12 hours.
Lol, the developer has acknowledged it doesn’t make sense at the moment and it will be changed.
To be fair the only thing that iphone had going for it was the form factor and the screen. Releasing without 3g or picture messaging totally put me off of it when it came out. Obviously it got better though lol
BaconReader was the first mobile app I used for reddit. Why am I feeling nostalgic? :(
They’re cashing out and running the brand into the ground. Sure they may technically gain some new subscribers by cracking down on password sharing but their shows will be receiving millions less views because of this and everything else they’re doing. It’s all typical short-sighted please the share holders bullshit.
Just gonna drop a couple links here, do with them what you will.
An important distinction here is that he was convicted for the visa fraud kind of trafficking and not like sex trafficking or something. There’s a huge difference there but people hear trafficking and just assume it’s the worst kind imaginable.
This lemmy instance seems to be covering a lot
You really think the average person knows how to ring up produce better than the cashier? I’d much rather interact with a real person anyway, it makes it feel like you’re supporting an actual business and employees instead of a computer with food behind it.
