Anything to keep the workers subjugated… even tanking a bedrock American corporation…
What a stupid hill to die on.
Rest in piss, assholes
Refugee from another, less-friendly instance. Please forgive the youth of my account— I’ve actually been around here for a while. Still, glad to be here!

Oh, look, a news headline from five years ago
I was referring to the lemmy devs, but ok, I guess
Perhaps you should report this as a bug to the devs. Otherwise, this was an interesting read.
These are different because kids take these computers home, and it’s some random working for a 3rd party monitoring what’s going on.
Creepy.
there’s plenty of that going on, too, just not on as large a scale.
Mastodon revolves around following topics and hashtags, not individuals. I learned that early on, and am having a much better experience.
lol, if you say so. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels a little let down with myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Funny, I speculated to a friend about a year ago that intel’s general fuckery might cause them problems not to far down the road , and here they are. Hmm, if only I had money to back that up… I’d probably have more money or whatever.
Or maybe not so much since I think just about everyone saw this coming. My friend certainly did.
Well, maybe I’m just too GenX, but, to me, that’s a distinction without a difference. WhatsApp is texting with extra steps, and Twitter is for Nazis. I’ve never used the former and gave up the latter along with FB and insta early on during covid. Reddit was my last social whatever, and I jumped that ship last June for this last shout.
I’ve never had tiktaky or snapsnore. Most of my time on my phone is spent either here or listening to news podcasts— which is pretty much what I did as a teenager: listening to NPR as my morning routine then a news/music mix throughout the day.
Hmmm…. How unusual and a little confusing to be both impressed and disappointed in oneself… well that’s why some of our best paid scientists are furiously genetically engineering new strains of cannabis! So I don’t have to deal with this shit!
At best that’s just unclear. Blocking VPNs isn’t impossible, just impractical. And it’s not like Brazil just became China. At worst, the just made accessing X impracticality expensive for its users— which, in Brazil, is a lot of people. In typical Brazilian fashion, they’re hitting Elon in the wallet.
When you’re too corrupt, even for Brazil, that really does say something.

I have an app where I can just type “+gpt <gpt prompt>” into any text field, so I have that already.
Seems slightly unfair to put that workload on the server.
The app is “MacGPT” and runs in the menu bar. I presume that such a useful utility almost certainly would exist for Linux, maybe on windows.
I mean, you can sit here and make up a bunch of different reasons, but the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.
They are also that. But when you watch YouTube-dl download a video, it downloads several parts, then ffmpeg recombines them into a single output file.
If you’ve ever used yt-dl, you’ll know that YT vids are all split into multiple files. Presumably, this is where the ads get injected.
Thanks, Biden! And the American taxpayer!
