I think that’s Spez’s plan
I think that’s Spez’s plan
In short, competition breeds innovation
I finally cracked and made an account
It’s not worth it, you basically get alerts on the account for everything to the point of uselessness
Perhaps a pinned, weekly post? It’s not like federated sites have enough traction yet to make a weekly thread full of buried posts, so it should work in the meantime
Plus, there will be far fewer variables when humans aren’t allowed to drive outside of race tracks and the like. Reason why fully AI cars are a bad idea right now is because of all the chaotic human drivers that react in nonsensical ways. e.g. Pedestrian steps out. Thing that makes sense is for the AI to stop the car. But then the driver behind them decides to swerve around and blare the horn, then see the pedestrian, freak, turn into the AI car, and an accident is caused. Without the human drivers, then all the vehicles can communicate with each other and all of them can react in appropriate ways, adjusting how they drive up to miles back
You did read how these trolls have alts built up over years, right? These aren’t normal trolls OP is dealing with
Nah, we’ll get Steam Deck 2 Episode 2, then Steam Deck Alyx
So what they are saying is they are willing to take liability and thus be open to being sued over this as they know of the scams but say they do not break community guidelines
Got it
Dammit, and Firefox is the only browser not jumping on the embedding drm bandwagon…
When EoS came for 3DS, they sent out one last update to kill as many methods of accessing homebrew as possible
At a minimum, one should be able to cut off access to the internet so a company can’t EoS killswitch it/pull a Nintendo and send an EoS fuck you update that breaks any attempts to put control in the user’s hands
Mind, that’s a really fucking low bar, and would be depressing if that’s all regulation guaranteed
Generally, when I consider uploading my conciousness, I imagine being able to store it in an offline device connected to my body and used more to bypass slow organic breakdown
Any cybernetic upgrades that you can’t, at a minimum, shut the connection to the internet off is not an upgrade because, well, they can send a killswitch or any other number of things
One thing which actually scares me with AI ia we get one chance. And there are a bunch who don’t think of repercussions, just profit/war/etc.
A group can be as careful as possible but it doesn’t mean shit if their Smarter Than Human AI isn’t also the first one out because as soon as it can improve itself, nothing is catching up
EDIT: This is also with the assumption of any groups doing so being dumb enough to give it capabilities to build its own body, obviously yes one that can’t jump to hardware capable of creating and assembling new parts is much less of a threat, as the thread points out
Sadly, can’t get my server to make the jump. Doesn’t help that Revolt is missing a few features and Matrix just… Doesn’t work at all for the flow of the server
Right now a bridge bot does heavy lifting for when Discord does piss off enough users to cause everybody to jump over
I don’t care that it’s being babysat, I’m still betting on it being stolen is a when, not an if
Definitely has happened. The amount of burning from wildfires is definitely a sign of it hitting the runaway effect - All that released carbon means even hotter temps which means more wildfires which means more released carbon which means…
Plus, scraping exists. No need to pay for API access if it can scrape what is publically available
Easy solution is to switch it back and organize with users to spam porn on it when it’s switched, and keep up the momentum. Either the admins have to shut down the subreddit to clean it up - which hurts their bottom line, they are unable to keep up - which hurts their bottom line - or they switch and breach contract with advertisers - which hurts their bottom line
I hope it backfires with them finally checking on the last possible day and seeing there are far too many to meet it in time
A non Roku Smart TV that you just don’t connect to the internet at all, ever
