Aren’t BIOS updates usually done by putting the update file on a flash drive and installing it from the BIOS? I’ve never heard of updating BIOS from Windows with an executable.

If you haven’t used Windows in that long you might as well just get rid of it.

Can you hear your laptop’s fan speed up when it’s overheating? Linux on my old laptop couldn’t control the fan speed so it was always overheating. When I figured out how to manually set it to maximum, it overheated much less.

I don’t really see how that’s an issue, except for very privacy focused people (who probably don’t have a Google account or are already careful about stuff like that).

The difference in air density from 0°C to 45°C is only around 20%. I can’t imagine that would be enough to cause problems, assuming the drones have a decent safety margin. I think it’s more likely it’s a safety precaution for the electronics.

.bashrc and .profile can be modified without root, as can autostarting .desktop files. I think systemd and anything in /etc require root though.
Also a lot of users set sudo to not require a password (I am guilty of this) which makes privilege escalation easy.

People do frequently consume videos on devices other than their phone, though. A desktop application is arguably just as important.

I agree. The plane is moving, but the camera’s movement and the relative speeds of the two planes makes it harder to see. If you scrub quickly through the video it’s easier to see it moving forwards and downwards.

From their timeline it seems it’ll be a year or two before it becomes available, but that’s pretty cool nonetheless. I wonder how strong (and sensitive) of an antenna the satellites need to communicate with phones designed for much shorter range communication, and if it’ll work with cloud cover.
