  • Rumble is an information tool, it’s not just “haha, Brrr when shoot”. It’s incredibly useful in many ways, and also very much helps immersion. The rumble we have now is much more precise and varied than it was back in the n64 generation, especially with controllers like the ps5 dualsense. I have a Gulikit KK3 MAX and its rumble is amazing, with every feeling from small precise taps to arm-shaking explosions. And when a game has well designed rumble implementation, which many have now, it’s just awesome. One genre of games that really shine is racing games, you feel everything, even different vibrations on different parts of the controller if for example your left tires are on dirt and right ones are on asphalt.

A good example just from the top of my head was when I played Pacific Drive, your car can break in many ways and I always noticed that one of my tyres had a flat from the rumble before I noticed it any other way, and knew which side it was on just from the feeling.

I think you’re mistaking “many” for “most”. There are objectively many Russians against putins bullshit. And the original comment specifically said they’re afraid to speak out, meaning part of those you say are for putin are just stuck, like so many others around the world. The only troll here is you, every reply you’ve gotten is way more friendly than you deserve. (I refuse to capitalize putins name, and wish nothing but death to him, his regime and everyone supporting him).

You’re very out of the loop for all of this. I have never listened to him and never cared, and generally stay away from celebrity gossip and even for me it’s been hard to miss everything about all the shit he’s done and is accused of having done. It’s widely known he’s a piece of shit.

  • Even people you’d really expect to use adblockers. A good example is right here on Lemmy, people here are generally pretty tech-savvy yet you get threads with lots of people complaining about ads. This has been a weird lesson as I get older, seeing that most people somehow don’t even think about lifting a finger to fix things they see as problems, they really just complain and then do absolutely nothing to help themselves. It’s the same with if someone mentions something they don’t know what it is, instead of taking 5 seconds to just look it up they comment to ask about it and then never reply to people answering their question. I’m certain that it’s very common to have some weird need to make others do work for you, they don’t actually care about finding out what something is or how to do something to fix a problem, they just care about making others spend any kind of effort for them.

  • Kinda re-discovered Mazzy Star last year, extremely good! Lots of melancholic nostalgia.
I remember my mom listening to it a lot when I was a kid in the mids 90s, it was a hard time for her as she had just separated with my dad. Being a single mom, with me at around 5 years of age and my little sister at 3 years old she had found several female musicians with powerful music that helped her get through life at that point. These aren’t specifically musically related to Mazzy Star but they are closely related in my heart, and all highly recommend, some of my earliest memories:

The Sugarcubes - Birthday (I turn to a pile of mush when I listen to this, in a good way of course)

Angelique Kidjo - Agolo (the whole album rhis is from, Ayé, is so damn good)

The Cranberries - Zombie (No need to say anything here other than “holy shit” at the view count)

    Thanks for posting!
