Thats actually reasonable. I think people are largely unaware of their own brain plasticity and how much any type of input affects our outlook and actions.

Ya they were rolling back mass deleted/edited comments. That was a huge red flag for me, along with censoring info about lemmy etc. I don’t need that in my life.

Upon my most recent browse, I have noticed a drop in engagement for sure, and my attention has been brought to many “how do you feel about X” comments that are poorly hidden bots driving discourse. Maybe I’m just more aware of it now though. I’ve definitely noticed a change though.

I was actually thinking about this the other day for some reason. AI scraping my own original stuff and doing whatever with it. I can see the concern and I’m curious where this goes and how a court would rule on a pretty technical topic like this.

Yea, I think as soon as there’s enough people, like where you feel you can no longer write a multi paragraph comment, is when it will have dropped.

I agree, I personally don’t want them, I like talking to people. I brought it up when they first started spamming, and I blocked lemmit. It was actually the first time i ever blocked anything lol. Out of my control after that, but it’s definitely important to talk about it. I don’t think we need them. Been having fun so far.

Fwiw, if the posts rolled in way slower, with no bot tags, it probably would have flown under the radar lol.

That’s cause over time people have added communities to your instances repitoire over time. Network effect, essentially, making it easier for each new user. Tbh, if new users are on a bigger instance this should be a non issue.
