So I found the official app awful and insanely slow, I always assumed it was my phones fault though. Literally gave up on things loading several times.
Happy to be on kbin instead!

I couldn’t agree more, discussion is a lot more civil. Even when we’re all disagreeing I’ve found people are giving each other room to put their point forward and listened (apart from one climate chnage thread but nothings perfect).
I’ve found myself saying magazine/group/community to cover my bases, so having a common name might be nice.
I don’t know much about kbin or the fediverse’s history so this is good to know. I also think kbin is pretty great, very usable, looks nice, teething problems have been minimal!
Oh, I was getting the same issue with brave. Thanks for the explanation!
Love this sentiment! I think we are in a bit of a teething period where people aren’t quite sure but hopefully everyone embraces and contributes!
Weirdly I’m subbed to 162, so almost exactly the same. Not sure of the kbin/lemmy breakdown.
Most of the communities are still really small or inactive but I’m subbed in the hope they develop in the next few weeks or so.
Hah, yeah I’ve got to wonder how many times I read that. Someone else reminded me of the amount of times I’d read red flag on reddit as well. Hopefully we can build a whole new community here, a fresh start!
I think in many ways the repetition of posts and worse replies. I know there was a bit of a hive mind going on, and in some ways it could be funny and a force for good, but I’m enjoying not reading the same set top comments to things!
Red flags everywhere, you know I’d forgotten that was everyone’s response on reddit!
Mind numbing is so right, I’d just scroll and see the same posts, same cookie cutter replies. It was all very predictable and I don’t think it was bringing all that much to my life. I do miss the more niche subreddits as they were still invaluable but hopefully the same can be developed here.
Honestly I didn’t post at all to reddit, so I had no idea it was that bad! Doesn’t sound like fun at all, and after all these are supposed to be fun, social communities.
Well I hope you continue to find your experience here better!
Nope, enjoying kbin way more than reddit so far. Even if this doesn’t work out I think I might have kicked my reddit habit!
It’s early days, and we have to give the place a chance to grow and develop. The best advice I’ve seen in here is not to lurk and build content and communities, which is what I’ve been trying to do at least.
Also weirdly, I had a notification that you had replied but then when I clicked on the notification I couldn’t find you reply? So maybe a bug?
There is /m/findakbin where you can post and ask. Other than that I just searched the magazine lists and then some magazines list related mags underneath.
Might be a better way but that’s all I’ve got so far!
It really does! I hadn’t realised how much I just wasn’t engaging with reddit and just lurking. The community here seems much better, although I’m missing my more active niche subreddits. Still early days though!
Yep, those! Makes for an interesting read, I think there are a few videos to go alongside the posts. Nice to see the development of a game.
Desperate to play dredge, but I keep telling myself I need to finished my current game first. Might just abandon it and play dredge instead!
The dredge devlogs are really interesting as well.
Hah it was something similar if not a little more about billionaire simps…
