What one is working for you?
I get this, I clear my cookies, it goes away for awhile. I wonder if I can just find the specific cookie and remove it frequently this whould just stop.
Thank you namecheap looks like the best choice for me so far. I’m also looking at a local one called host papa. I may need to export my email history and figure out exactly what my needs are in terms of space. Proton might be a good option there as well if I can keep it at 1GB.
Well crap
I pretty much only have my domain for my email adress. It’s also a back up plan should my career take another nose dive and I need a portfolio. Gsuite was good for all that.
I’m not quite in the loop with best options for that kinda thing. And I been using the email for contract work for over a decade now. So I don’t want to give that up. Would cloudflare be good for that as well?
Let’s not support reddit by participating in their attempt to boost stats.
I can smell the bot farming from here.
I love how companies can be like “you can’t have those people they belong to me”. And that’s somehow normal.
If we are here outside of reddit. we no longer need reddit. It’s not on us to “go after” anyone. If they kill 3rd party apps and their UX becomes garbage then nature will take its course.
Let it go, let the healing start.
I honestly just hadn’t looked into it yet. The information I was finding on reddit alternatives was sparse, and i honestly expected reddit to come to its senses before things got this bad.
I saw Lemmy was open source and got myself into it before hearing about any controversies. But I should do my research in KBin as well, the site has been popping up in my feeds a lot. people seem to be hoping for a sort of merger between lemmy and kbin, or at least some sort of cross access between the two.
I’ll get on that when i am able to.
Yup. I think that’s the approach. If your done with Reddit and deleted your account then why spare a thought for it. I don’t care if it goes down or not, it’s not longer my platform. This is where I am at for now.
However all of us got to put in the work of this thing is going to work out. Participate where you can and promote the existence of this option to others.
The apps still need work and somthing has got to be done about the whole “Lenny devs support the cpp” nonsense. I find that one was making it tricky to bring newcomers our way. I’m just going to be patient as possible with all that. I’m sure all the devs and mods are working their butts off for us and will deal with that when they can.
Change cam be hard, especially when it has to come at a time you may not be ready for it. Reddit was a bigger part of some of our lives then it was for others, so I understand thay choices like this can be difficult.
You saw what reddit was doing and made a stand. Despite what the more negative folks are saying here I am proud of you. And you should be proud of yourself.
I dont think that one is some urban legend. He did have to supplement a lot of animations because the real video only shows how the situation started. There’s news clips after as well. There is some honestly too lucky to be true elements to that story but the clips of the testimony at the end do make it seem pretty legit. It’s at least real enough to freak me out.
