  • This probably won’t make anyone feel any better, but here in the UK we got the “lesser evil”, and all of the threats that existed before, still exist now. They are going ahead with cutting benefits and making them harder to get, they are continuing their attack on trans people, they are not opposing genocide in any significant way., they continue to favour rich over poor.

The problem isn’t who sits at the head of the pyramid, the problem is the pyramid itself, because by definition someone always has to be at the bottom and bear the brunt of those above.

As bad as they are, we must stop focusing on the symptoms, and address the cause - abolish capitalism, abolish the state, abolish hierarchy.

  • Yeah, it can be hard because everyone has shit going on, it’s why having someone in your life whose specific job is to help you with stuff like this is so helpful, because it feels less like pilling on to someone else. You can of course hire a PA, but that becomes expensive, but it’s definitely worth looking around, try ADHD/neurodiversity specific charities or organisations, but depending on your circumstances you might qualify for other types of places too.

Also, don’t be embarrassed, I’ve taken years to sort shit out, life is already so overwhelming, having additional barriers to deal with these aspects of life can make it almost impossible at times. You’re doing your best.

  • it’s a little easier said than done.… it’s weirdly difficult to get help and executive dysfunction can be a real bitch.

Oh 100%, executive dysfunction really is an absolute bitch, and getting through that wall can be the hardest fucking part!

Not to mention just how hard it can be to find medical staff that isn’t burnt out to the point of not giving a crap… :/

I know it seems like just adding an extra step, but have you considered checking if there are any (volunteer) patient advocacy services available near you? I have some other difficulties too, so more help might be available to me, and also I don’t know where you are, in US it might be too big an ask, but having an advocate has been a game changer for me - they help make calls for you to arrange appointments and follow ups and stuff, help liaise with staff if you need them to, basically they jump a lot of the hurdles for you to help you get to where you need to be.

If something like that isn’t available, is there anyone in your life that you’d trust to advocate for you? In any case, you’d need to give permission to your provider to speak to them on your behalf, which again seems like just an extra step, but I really think that sharing some of the burden of acting with someone else can be a great help (though it might not work for you, and that’s ok too).

That’s outrageous, you shouldn’t have to deal with this bullshit.

I agree with the other reply - report them and find a new GP, I know that’s a massive pain and hassle, but it’s so important to have a medical team that is there to help you make your life better, not judge and police you according to their own questionable morals.

  • What the actual fuck is wrong with the people we give power to.

Change that to “why the fuck do we have to keep picking others to have power over our own lives?” and you might start getting somewhere.

    Power corrupts.

Capitalism and its electoral politics (the extra steps it has taken from feudalism, that is nothing more than theatre to appease the masses) has always existed to concentrate, and then maintain, power in the hands of a few. Once someone has such power they will never give it up willingly.

As long as there is hierarchy, there will be inequality. Which is why our system enforces hierarchy so avidly.

  • But Twitter is a real fuckup for him

Except it clearly fucking isn’t, it’s doing exactly what he bought it for, including convincing people like you to feel sympathy for him and his “loss”, which is equal parts hilarious and really fucking sad. You’re looking at his life from the point of view of a poor person, something he never was and never will be, yet he’s still so easily manipulated you in to feeling bad for him (and the billions he’s lost, leaving him… still the motherfucking richest person on the planet), and even fucking (think you) relate to him and the idea that he can “fail” just like you can, using you as a living breathing mouthpiece to make his life easier. Not yours.

    perfect boy genius mystique

I just threw up a little in my mouth, thanks.

  • And yet, he’s still one of the what, 5 richest people on the planet?

He doesn’t give a shit, and neither should you (as nice as the schadenfreude might feel). He got something worth more to him than plain old money - an established propaganda platform, which he is using as he intended - to war monger and otherwise interfere in politics to ensure fascism progresses as fast as he can help it. The “dent” (more like a surface scratch) it put in his finances is completely invisible and irrelevant to him.

And it should be to you, too.

He is NEVER going to end up without means or power, not even fucking close, unless we take them from him, and abolish the system that encouraged and enabled him to amass them in the first place.

  • I can understand that in some countries cops can be seen as criminals (and are behaving like criminals), but I don’t think a generality should be made. Just like a generality shouldn’t be made about people from an origin all doing the same bad thing.

ACAB, and you don’t get to compare your chosen profession to where people were born or the colour of their skin, nor try to claim victim points by pretending you are systemically oppressed and discriminated against in the same way we are (though your trying to does go to strengthen my first point).

    Fuck you, pig.
