They weighed in months ago back when it was announced and said they were taking a wait and see approach, where if it did cause problems they would defederate, but didn’t want to preemptively do so. Many other instances did defederate already though.

What was it? This list really piques my curiosity but I know it’s better not to look….
Oh I see, in my app your comment shows up as a top level comment not a direct reply to someone. But that explanation makes sense !
I really don’t like doing pickup for most trips because I care about the quality and ripeness of my produce and also purposefully select the furthest away expiry dates for certain things I go through slowly, it becomes a lot to ask someone else to do if there are 20 comment lines for these little details, but if I don’t it just results in wasted food and money :/
Why don’t you want to engage in public? Just curious, I don’t have any contentious viewpoint to express
That would track if it was anti or pro but it seems to be specifically aimed to censor one side
Oops, thanks for the correction!
I didn’t know the answer to this so I looked it up - yes. Over 120 Db can cause damage even if it’s ultrasonic and you can’t hear it. Apparently at 155Db the heat created by the sound wave can be dangerous as well.
In an ultrasonic frequency we can’t hear. But your pets and any nearby bats or rodents etc may be upset by it…
No he’s right, this is a disconnect with reality
It is a really good game with a lot of depth, definitely a little more restrictive/slower paced - you’re mostly investigating a mystery not fighting and collecting tons of loot - and maybe not for everyone but very unique and detailed and funny.
Well fortunately on Lemmy people can create multiple versions of the same community to be ran in different manners. People can vote with subscribership. Beehaw is an example of a more heavily moderated instance that might align better with your goals and opinions about this. If the space you’re in takes a more laissez-faire approach to moderation, but that is the general desire of the community, it makes sense not to impose your desires on them if other more congruent options exist.
If you want to take up the time burden of moderating large communities for free you can contribute to the solution but it is a lot of work with no compensation, so there is a valid reason that throwing more moderation at the problem is much easier said than done
For real, we’ve had e-transfer forever…
Not sure why they couldn’t have just asked the userbase their thoughts, or just had the ex Reddit mods join the significantly larger community entrenched community as part of the mod team. It may well be the original android mods just didn’t feel like holding up the responsibility anymore, it certainly doesn’t need to be some hostile takeover conspiracy, but there are also some way better ways to go about it for sure
You weren’t an asshole
