Playing Dragon Age Veilguard. Just finished the first quest, and it’s a lot of fun so far.

Our DM, a dentist, so not in tech, used it to put together a D&D campaign, and so far it’s been fantastic.

I once took over an app that worked like this. Access to one thing? Access to everything! And they had a hard coded admin password in the server code. 🤦 The client wasn’t happy when I proposed a complete rewrite. Eventually my manager begged me to stop working with them, so we did.

I was going to get this, but then read that the new DRM made it unplayable on deck. Is that not true?

Huge eyeroll. There was a writers strike. To make up for all the new content that’s not available, Netflix acquired a bunch of old stuff that may be new to subscribers.

I use the travel case if I take it anywhere, but I haven’t seen any need for a protective case.

Probably more than 50% on steam deck over the last 6 months, though overall I’ve slowed down quite a bit since getting it a year ago.

The last major game I got was Endless Dungeon when that released (maybe in October?), and I did maybe 2 sessions on pc, then played the rest of the time on the deck. So it’s still my preferred platform.

I got Jagged Alliance 3 over the holiday, and found it visually a bit too small on the deck, so I plan to play some on PC until I have a good handle on the game, then switch back to the deck. It’s kind of similar to Solasta, which I first played on pc, but now primarily play on Deck.

I didn’t try the S21, but I always thought the S8 was a very comfortable phone to hold. It was tall, but narrow, and very thin. I’m not sure I’d go back to that now, but I did like it a lot at the time.

I got the S23 because it was smaller, then returned it and got a bigger phone. I guess I’m one of the people that only thought they wanted a smaller phone.

I actually carried a 7 inch tablet in my pocket before it was cool, bezels and all. This was back on Android 2.3 when people would moan about tablet UIs and say that it’s just a giant phone, to which I would say: Yea, and having a giant phone is awesome.

Fact: I’m shocked Linux Mint is still a thing. Fact: it screwed me over in the past. I don’t see how either of those statements can, by definition, be uninformed or not still valid. What are you trying to prove? I don’t need you to validate my life experiences. Why are you acting like you need me to validate your life choices?

I’m not trying to convince you of anything. I was genuinely shocked that Linux Mint is still around. Haven’t heard about it in years. You’re free to not take that personal.

Details are fuzzy at this point, but I believe it was a series of updates that kept having issues and finally one update that completely screwed up the machine, and in trying to fix it I ended up losing some important data. I was pissed off and got an MS Surface, and I kind of loved it, so haven’t been Linux since.
