That is the question I’m asking. Sure we can blame person X, but nobody who can be put in the place of X cares about the problem. So what can we do to at least get this boat going? I want to brainstorm so that we can actually get shit done instead of waiting for the “leaders” to do it for us.
Let’s take politics out of the discussion since it is clear that even after years neither party did anything remarkable about fixing the broken healthcare system. I believe the people need to take these matters in their hands, otherwise nothing will change. So what do you as a person living in the US think that we can do to fix/improve the situtation?

Start with the basics:
You talk as if it is yet to happen.
I heavily use both platforms, whatever I talk about or wherever I go, I see targeted ads. When I speak about brand X, I immediately see ads for it both in ios and android. Plus every device mic is being listened to all the time, advertising agencies are your proof. Sure android devices collect more data in practice, however the data that’s not being collected by ios can be inferred from the data that’s already been collected. Do you really believe a company when they say their devices are made to ensure your privacy? Google literally says the same thing on their privacy policies ;) it’s all legal mumbo jumbo that doesn’t mean what it’s supposed to.
The data collection happens on both ends. Apple only lies that it is about privacy and whatnot. Gives you a false sense of safety.

I guess it depends on your main goal. I started out as a gambler then lost a bunch of money and started actually investing. But at the end of the day every transaction you make can be called a gamble.

I used bad words against a nefarious political person on instagram and the comment got promptly removed. I then disputed the issue and they happily restored the comment lol.

I totally understand your views, although I’m paying this platform to not show me ads, that money should then go to the creators if they have to insert ads into their videos for some change. This is the platform’s fault.
Definitely avoid Pixels. They look better than most Android devices in terms of software imo, although it’s because they’re really locking down the firmware similar to iOS, which breaks the purpose of using Android anyway. Also the processor on the Pixels are even behind 5-6 year old phones.
Btw…Google Maps has ads already, the square icons are all ads paid by the place owners. Routing is fishy yes, because they’re actively routing people through different routes in order to collect data for their algorithms.
The biggest reason I still use Google products is there is no alternative and they fully know this.
