I don’t think hitting more gas is going to gently slide the 300 pound buck under my car. It’s just going to increase the impact force.

This sounds made up
You can’t truly trust any commercial service.
“My gut tells me that this isn’t a systematic scheme to withhold royalties. It’s more of an accounting issue that’s blown up,” Gilbert said. “It sounded pretty damning and pretty heavy-handed, but in my experience, I think it’s something less dramatic.”
“It’s a bit over the top,” said Tavern, who now lectures on the music industry at the University of New Haven. “It can probably be easily explained by bureaucracy, or incompetence,” or the sheer volume of payments processed by a music firm as large as UMG, he said.
Oh, the record company execs think this is a simple misunderstanding, and definitely doesn’t represent them ripping people off. You have to believe them!
First you get the money. Then you get the power. Then you get the nookie.
I would agree with the other guy. A video game AI can be as simple as some if-then decision logic, and i would count that as “AI”. An LLM also makes “decisions” on what to do/say, just via a different mechanism (predictive modeling) . I would still bucket that as AI. It you count one you should count the other. Neither are truly “thinking” in the sense of an AGI.
It’s all mentioned in the linked article
You make good points, but I still think nothing good can come of playing ball with Facebook. I dont trust them
In 1995 people thought Win95 was incomprehensible.

I guess what I meant was to run it on a TV-native platform that you control with your remote, instead of streaming your PC display to the TV and still using the mouse and keyboard. Xbox has a Jellyfin app for example. I use Plex and my TV has an app for it. Also I can use Chromecast and throw it up from my phone or PC and control that with the remote.
You might want to consider streaming it on your TV. Modern TVs should have a Plex app at the least. Or use a Chromecast or other setup. I watch on my couch with the TV remote. Its the same experience as watching Netflix.
In that thread, the sponsorblock official account posted:
the ui needs to change to include ad links, so the data for when ads happen should still be retrievable somewhere in the page. Then just a bit of math
So hopefully, there will still be a method for sponsorblock to continue working.

Ouch
I had the same issue as you and I bought a mini PC for under $200 and it works like a charm
Asinine is Conan’s brand.

This isn’t an article headline, it’s a discussion post. I’m not sure Betteridge’s law applies.
Read the other comments in this thread for why it doesn’t work like that
