Yeah, particularly chat in a meeting, it feels so barebones.

Curious – not saying it’s great, but I don’t think the Zoom UX is much better, personally. What bothers you about Teams, if I might ask?
Pretty cool, especially considering how it’s been shown that WiFi can be used to pretty accurately determine the position and number of people in a room with AI.
@NormalTownLeader Hmm – doesn’t seem to me. They compare themselves to Reddit on their about page. I think it’s just the fact that it is an app and has a similar layout to Discord that gives those vibes. The actual communities and posting style seem more Reddit/forum to me, or perhaps a hybrid of sorts.
@NudelnAlDente Not sure there’s really any set ways, but I’d personally use a microblog with hashtags if I wanted some reach beyond kbin or the community I’m posting to. That said, it seems like folks on kbin might favor threads in general, perhaps because it’s most similar the posts on Reddit where many of us have come from.
Nah, it’s pretty clear when you open Threads and it says literally “Log in with Instagram”. It’s like logging into YouTube with your Google account and then being mad that deleting your “YouTube account” deletes your Google account. You can always disable your YouTube or Threads profile.
Yep, this is just pure sensationalism, problems with Meta/Threads aside.
Getting a 404 error, but might just be due to kbin upgrades, etc.
A temporary work around is using the upvote (aka favorite) and the post will be shown in your favorites, whereas the “boost” acts more like an upvote on kbin
I think this could all be solved easily with some quick onboarding explaining terms when a user signs up.
I could easily see it being added in options that people can see these terms as whatever they prefer. Could even be done with browser extensions/user scripts relatively simply.
Saying they should do something isn’t a demand. To me, it’d be more akin to the EU sharing currency, various regulations, etc. It just makes things easier for those within it and tends to be mutually beneficial, but it does take same to find agreements that every member is cool with.
For me, this is just opening it as a browser tab, not sure why
Still all being figured out, so totally possible he tries to cover as much of the fediverse as possible. Lots of people asking him for it and I know he’s listening.
