I’m anti Kroger - my wife and daughter both worked there after the pandemic. They’re definitely union around here but they’ve negotiated the worst wages in the area. You make $13/hr and still have to pay dues.
I’ve been to 47 states and a bunch of countries, I’ve never seen a winco
Civilians used to own canons. For blowing up ships. And the occasional home invader. Doesn’t matter if it has sailed if we sink it. We should sink that ship.
Yeah I’m thinking about leaving Lemmy. Not sure where to go but this place does not have diversity of thought or dialog.
My thought exactly. They can always do like me and nope the fuck out of there.
They definitely slam white people’s heads into the ground for telling them no, too.
I have been installing Linux on a number of my work PCs that I manage. Most of them are pretty straightforward, office products, printing, web, basic video player. But my personal PCs have so many different programs installed for different niche uses that it’s been a massive roadblock to me switching over. I know it’s coming because I’m not moving to Windows 11 even though my PC is compatible in theory. But man is it going to take me a lot of time to figure out all of the different screen capture, video editing, audio extraction and editing, disc imaging, photo editing etc. I know I can figure it out, but it’s about the time. I have a huge steam library too,but most of that should work.
Any of you playing Fallout London on Linux?
The downgrade wasn’t difficult, it just took a bit of time, its slightly more complicated if like many others you own the game on Steam. I’ve been playing this week. A little buggy but so was FO4 at release.
Do the math with 90 mph, although to be fair, I only average 80 to 85 probably. I only do 1600 with multiple drivers. I live in Ohio but I take people to the mountains out west all of the time. Sometimes I drive to Colorado by myself though without stopping other than gas. Also, I’ve done a thousand miles on a motorcycle in one day. Now that is a feat.
Yeah I often drive over 1000 miles in a day, sometimes as much as 1600+ so this is the only way I’d consider electric. Although it sounds like at a high speed supercharger it would be more expensive than regular gasoline. At least there’s progress.
Sounds like a nice build, what GPU do you have with it? I’m running an RTX 4070ti. People seemed mad at it when it released but I got mine $15 under MSRP on the day it released (plus tax exempt because it’s my main video editing PC for my nonprofit).
A couple years later I’m still loving it for 1440p 144fps gaming, I run most games on ultra. It seems a good match for the 5800x, sometimes I bottleneck on GPU, sometimes CPU but most of the time neither.
With the way I expect to see inflation continue along its current path, I half expect them to argue that their prices are still the same as in year 2XXX prices, adjusted for inflation.
Ryzen changes their sockets less often too. I went from a 2600 to a 3700x to a 5800x with the same motherboard. Unless Intel really steps up their game I don’t see any reason to switch back.
There are a million reasons to move out of California but there are a million reasons to not go to Texas.

Any liberal who supports disarming civilians is a left authoritarian.
Everyone hates Rand Paul but he voted no on this, as did others on the left and the right. Fuck fascism and fuck left authoritarianism.
I used to be pretty big into Reddit. I haven’t been back in almost a year except a couple of google search results. I do notice a difference though. There is less diversity in expressed thoughts here. I don’t miss the doomscrolling though, I can run out of new content here and I like that.
I’ve installed Linux mint cinnamon on some PCs for other people. It’s okay. I still run into errors and difficulties but for your average non techie person it might work if someone else gets them started.
