Kamala won’t be perfect, and we need to keep pressure on her from the left…
But at the end of the day, she’s able to beat trump where Biden likely couldn’t, and she’ll sure as shit be a better president than Biden or trump could be

Great.
So the social media site is older than I thought, and the person who made the comment on that site is a lot stupider than it seemed.
Like, Facebooks been around for about 20 years. Would you take a link to a Facebook comment over PBS?
And that linked accounts last comment was advocating for Biden to stage a pre-emptive coup before this election…
https://www.metafilter.com/activity/306302/comments/mefi/
It doesn’t matter if it was created before Ask Yahoo or if it’s older.
It’s random people making random social media comments, sometimes stupid people make the rare comment that sounds like they know what they’re talking about. And I already agreed no one had to take my word on it either.
But that PBS video does a really fucking good job explaining it.
Cuz if I can’t explain to you why a random social media comment isn’t a good source, I’m sure as shit not going to be able to explain anything like Penrose’s theory on consciousness to you.
That’s a social media comment from some Ask Yahoo knockoff…
Like, this isn’t something no one is talking about, you don’t have to solely learn about that from unpopular social media sites (including my comment).
I don’t usually like linking videos, but I’m feeling like that might work better here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa2Kpkksf3k
But that PBS video gives a really good background and then talks about the recent discovery.
Well, they also kept telling investors all they need to simulate a human brain was to simulate the amount of neurons in a human brain…
The stupidly rich loved that, because they want computer backups for “immortality”. And they’d dump billions of dollars into making that happen
About two months ago tho, we found out that the brain uses microtubules in the brain to put tryptophan into super position, and it can maintain that for like a crazy amount of time, like longer than we can do in a lab.
The only argument against a quantum component for human consciousness, was people thought there was no way to have even just get regular quantum entanglement in a human brain.
We’ll be lucky to be able to simulate that stuff in 50 years, but it’s probably going to be even longer.
Every billionaire who wanted to “live forever” this way, just got aged out. So they’ll throw their money somewhere else now.
For a lot of people the only reason they’re on social media is the slap fights
They don’t care about or know about half the shit they argue about, they just want to argue about something.
I block a lot of people once it becomes apparent that’s what they’re doing.
Yeah, except the food sucks and it’s full of Nazis…
The article says they don’t want to leave because of their high follower counts…
But most of them are bots, inactive, or Nazis following so they can troll comments easier.
They care about an empty number and won’t do the slightest work to improve an alternative.
If all you want is a participation trophy and no one to tell you how to do better, sure.
I don’t see the point in that, but I do see a point to honest feedback.
People want an easy “fight” to feel like they’re doing something.
They don’t understand that if all the “good people” left twitter, the right wingers would fight each other
Staying on Twitter just gives them all a common enemy and unites them, leaving fractures them.
So just fucking leave.
If someone is still questioning if they should be on Twitter, then they don’t know enough about what’s going on to speak about why people shouldnt still be using it.
It’s not exactly complicated.
Not as good as his other stuff, he’s obviously not a diss rapper…
But the drama is pretty interesting:
Ren is an English musician who blew up busking in London.
He had crazy health issues and spent like a year in the hospital. When he got better and got out he wrote Sick Boi about his experience with modern healthcare. For the song he bought a beat from some online store, for a flat fee. He tweaked it a little, but gave credit and paid for it.
Song blew up, and I think he even got a #1 album out of it?
Then it turns out the beat he bought had an unauthorized sample, so they’re demanding 50% of everything, and the guy who sold the beat (Kujo) never got paid because that shit was going on. Plus he was getting like 3k and believes he should be paid more since it blew up.
Ren’s lawyers were also telling Kujo that he’s on the hook to pay the 50% cuz he stole the beat, but he’s broke as fuck and the 3k was a lot.
At some point Ren and Kujo’s girl start dming, and she goes from cool to “joking” they were gonna break Ren’s kneecaps, then ran to reddit and made shit up about Ren.
Yes…
The ship has Internet…
For official business.
That’s not the same as everyone having wifi for anything.
For fucks sake, how can you not understand this? It’s really not that difficult…
I said:
This was for porn and maybe streaming services and social media, but mostly porn.
And on your second reply you said:
do you think the starlink terminal in the OP article was for military use?? bwahahaha
I stand by my original assessment after your first comment:
Yeah man, you have zero idea what people are talking about
Because you literally don’t understand the conversation
That article is about wifi for personal use…
And the second one is about it being free and you’re acting like they didn’t have Internet before then?
so no, I don’t think for the average sailor a US warship provides internet access 24/7
Yeah man, you have zero idea what people are talking about about.
No it just wouldn’t.
Like, are you imagining a modern US warship doesn’t have internet 24/7?
This was for porn and maybe streaming services and social media, but mostly porn.
It wasn’t for any official use, because they have that covered.
You’re acting like surface ships are submarines…
What?
Surface ships are in constant communication with stuff…
You can’t just find a signal in the middle of the ocean. Musk can find a starlink signal tho, because he can see what Starlink connects to and it’s gps location.
Probably not for the reason you think.
Like, it wouldn’t be patched into anything official
But it means Musk knew where that ship was 24/7, and I’m pretty sure that’s why Ukraine’s military stopped using it. Musk tipped off Putin to troop movements.
I switched to duckduckgo before this bullshit, but this would 100% make me switch if I hadn’t already.
Who wants random ai gibberish to be the first thing they see?
I used a burner account that wasn’t following many users, and the videos the X TV app offered me on first viewing includes a Megyn Kelly video accusing Tim Walz of committing “stolen valor,” a report from right-wing social media influencer Andy Ngo and Carlson’s fawning interview with historian Darryl Cooper who performs some revisionist history by calling Winston Churchill “the chief villain of the Second World War.”
I’m honestly surprised they’re outright saying the Allies were the villains now…
Like, it’s almost enough for me to try and Google the “historian” to see if she thinks Russia or the Nazis were the good guys.
You’d think they wouldn’t push Russia because back then they claimed to be communist, but it’s not like logical consistency matters to them. They like Russia now, so they could very well claim Russia was always the good guys.
Or they could just be more blatantly pro Nazi then they used to be.
Kind of feels like it would be more appropriate to make it a post to the fedicerse and not just link to your personal blog…
