So you are saying Mastodon won’t take off because people need to choose a server but also because having a “default” where majority will ptobably end up is bad - but this is literally the solution to the problem you mentioned

Thanks!
It’s still a cool bubble. The initial hype was bound to diminish, but it is still a cool little place. Has it’s own issues, but still. Here since the exodus, never looked back
Agreed, Copilot was one of if not the best named AI I think. Why they would want to rebrand it to something so bland so quickly is beyond me
Pretty sure at this point nothing will
And not a “don’t do this” kind of warning. More of a “this will happen, get ready” kind of warning
Hey, I’ve seen this one
This is great, thanks for that link!
I heard there were issues with those, but not sure on the specifics
I never used linux and was surprised how easy and almost seamless the transiton was.
What are the issues? Genuine question.

Seconded. Linux Mint is really comfy and intuitive coming off of lifetime of Windows
I guess it depends on what you do, but as an awerage user - not really much to learn in terms of Linux. No special knowledge needed to use it like a normal person. I had to reformat some drives so Linux can use them and learning about Heroic games launcher, Lutris and Bottles to run non-steam games and windows software amd learn about compatibility layer built into Steam.
Otherwise it just works. Using Linux Mint. Didn’t boot to Windows pretty much since I installed it - there was no need.
It was not even the emails. I tried to duckgo it and only found this controversy (which was new to me). What I saw was a specific qute, possibly on topic of privacy or something adjecent which just made me go “nope!”
“AI PC” is a branding for PCs with a NPU which is for AI workload processing.
I think this might be it. There were also some statements by the CEO I think which didn’t exactly inspire confidencenin their company - but again, I don’t remember the details unfortunately
I don’t remember any specifics, but I think I heard there were some privacy concerns?
Then again, there seem to be privacy concerns about pretty much anything so might not be that bad…
I’m sure fines are under “other expenses” in their financials…
Idk, elderly are prone to ramblingnon and sometimes not making much sense. Perfect use of AI if you ask me.
