In the same boat. Mint has some growing pains but for mainly web browsing I’ve been enjoying an OS that doesn’t feel like a ad billboard or a data snitch.
I had to drop sponsorblock as it was letting those ads in. Now just use unblock and I don’t get those ads anymore.
Just picked up our 2nd bullet 4k with ai. It’s a good addition to my nvr.
No vertical Taskbar. -1
Horrible multiple monitor support. -1
AI built in. -1
Ads in the start menu. -1
Until this list starts at zero I’m not even remotely interested.
I’m digging Pluma on my android as a 2ndary to GF.
What OS are you on?
What Browser are you using?
Are you using any ad blockers?
FTC needs to force auto manufacturers to allow the vehicle OWNER to disable data collection at the very least. If it were up to me it would allow owners to disable the sim card and OTA completely. I personally don’t know anyone who uses the in car gps over google/apple maps anyway.
True but they dont have a knee to their neck from share holders to increase profits year over year.
Ah, I have the aspire a315-56. Mint was pretty painless for me after the RST issue. I didn’t have to worry about wifi/bluetooth/touchpad drivers at all. Right out of the box its been smooth (for linux) for me.
Because of Intel RST? I just had to deal with that but was able to get a dual boot of mint on my acer.
edit For those who come across this who has the same issue as I did. Video: https://youtu.be/sGJL62ZYRTU?t=77 Text: Boot to your BIOS. Get to the MAIN tab and hit CTRL+S to show hidden bios option. Disable Intel RST. Exit and Save. Re attempt to install Mint.
I’m honestly surprised the us govt hasn’t developed their own pos locked downed Linux os.
Heinz Ketchup?
Hope FTC does something before this deadline hits.
So whats to say with the machines that cant update to win 11? They just become ewaste?
github thing?
slowly moving myself to https://revolt.chat/.
Its sad since I’ve been with discord since almost '15.
I never really got into Twitter format. Been more of a fan of long form discussion that can bring more insight. Mastodon and bluesky just fill that void, although has replaced twitter for me.
