I only recently learned of GrapheneOS and I’ve been tempted to install it on my 8 Pro, I may soon give it a shot. Do you find anything to be missing in terms of feature availability or in the Google play sandbox? There are a few games I don’t want to do without.
They sold me a device and want me to buy another.
It should be code name “Bug Eyes”, in a nod to Zuck.
Seems like a cool idea but, so far with Gemini on my Pixel, I hate that I can’t tell what’s on device and what’s in the cloud and I ended up uninstalling it. I’m not sure Google needs to know more about me than they already do.
Supposedly the phone can run local models but I’ve only seen it in the recorder app, which isn’t really that useful, especially after all of the hype around Tensor, AICore and Gemini Nano.
I’m considering buying one but lately I’ve been thinking about maybe getting a Mustang because the BlueCruise seems more honest. However, Ford doesn’t seem super committed to electric and it’s all hard to justify when my Honda just won’t die.
YouTube videos of FSD make it seem way better than it used to be (if they’re real) and it’s surprising that no one was paying attention until now.
It is the .net framework version. I’m not sure mono is used in anything but Xamarin and a handful of gnome apps. Xamarin has a clear upgrade path to MAUI but not without some effort and the risk of missing nugets, I did it on a small app once. This isn’t super useful.
dotnet is now a multiplatform framework itself. Do they still need mono?
Companies all over the world shutdown because of their incompetence. They do not deserve to be in the security business.
Government bureaucracy. Social networks should be as close to direct representation of the people as we can get, like the fediverse.
I’m sorry you can’t handle when someone disagrees with you. I’m not abandoning human decency when I say things like “university should be free” and “if anything all education loans should be refinanced with a interest rate ceiling”. You are a coward.
They could have used any number of open source models easily. It’s like they wanted us to know.
You absolutely have a choice.
Clearly there should be debt forgiveness for people with medical issues. Otherwise people should think ahead.
And I started all of this by saying that university should be free. I’m not the enemy here. You signed an agreement to pay those bills, now do it.
I do not have a degree. Still here and happy. Make better choices.
Please do.
We can’t afford either. Clearly you should run for office so you can divert money from national defense to education so we can trade our safety for your bills, you won’t get elected though.
We have inflation for that. Wages will eventually go up.
And there was no crime here.
I don’t want to punish anyone, I just think free university is a better investment for the future. Debt relief only removes the consequences for the choices some people made, while free university is for everyone.
I had an Amazfit BIP for a while that had a color e-paper display with a battery that lasted over 30 days. I think they have since gone OLED but one cool thing about it was, while they had their own app with a login, I could alternatively sync it directly with a third party app on Android that was called “Notify And Fitness”. I only mention it because within this particular app the info never left the device. Perhaps there is something similar today, but I have since just given in and gone Garmin.
