Apps looking odd or not is the job of the main drawing framework.
Qt themes are able to draw GTK but GTK can not draw Qt actually proves my point.

Switching the UI framework sounds like a massive refactor.
Qt is by far the better framework. This could also be a chance to implement a super UI/UX, it could also be a complexity hell. I will have a look at the project, let’s see if the outcome wil be a better product.
Fortunately valve did not use the System Manjaro provides. This would have been a very stupid business decision.
StreamOS is plain Arch
Ubuntu tries to be baught from Microsoft. They need one centralized (unfree) way of income to get money out of their customers. This is the reason for snap, their proprietary AppStore.
Tldr? Leave you fools. Leave!
Sabayon. It worked perfectly till I tried to update some stuff 💣
This was one the most stable and at the same time the most unstable distribution I ever tried.
You may have a look at bigwig. It isn’t exactly Fruity loops but is also a very suitable DAW and runs native on Linux.
I tried hyprland. It’s okish and very (very) colorful.
For a tiling wm it’s just over complex and does not integrate well with other tools. The configuration is a nightmare tbh.
If you want to get your fingers dirty on tiling WM using Wayland Sway is just fine. It’s minimalistic and feels almost like i3.
Vaxry tries to shit on another project.
The current design language, IMO, is one of the worst I’ve seen in a while, but
Qed. His posts should not get any attention. He is as narcissistic as toxic.
In 3 of my last 4 jobs as developer I could use Linux as desktop. The 1 exception did not have the admins that could think ahead of what Amazon or Microsoft has told them. They where also struggling with other ‘modern’ ideas.
Maybe a German thing, but Linux for a dev is quite common here.
Next will be NT. I think they will put their thing above a Linux somewhere in the next future.
They will. The whole enda id / stream account nonsense is already the first step in that direction.
Minecraft will only produce income if modding is done via some AppStore. Since this isn’t exactly what we want they have either kill java or disable modding and add their AppStore there.
I am loving that color scheme. Wow!
Is there really still such a market for Intel CPUs? I do not understand that AMDs Zen is so much better and is the superior technology since almost a decade now.
He is some sort of a sociopath. I remember having the same feelings reading his Blogposts. But after rethinking and checking the facts it came to me how awful his own reaction was.
If you use an infrastructure as the project did, the host is allowed to define rules. In his reaction everything was framed like she as a woman would just fire against his project because of she likes to have power. The mailing list told a totally different story. After I realised his framing was again hateful and misleading, I stepped away from the project and till now all news about that.
The development of a dedicated backend is most probably because of technical reasons since wlroots caused some problems, though.
If your graphics card isn’t a NVIDIA you would be fine with Wayland since months.

You should use Arch, btw
