Reddit refugee I guess? You might know me from a certain daily chat thread in certain subreddit (that is now private). Profile picture is a dark elf just like the last time, but instead of a snoo, it’s an actual dark elf from Skyrim :p
Notion is so good, but damn, it cannot be used offline I think, that’s a major dealbreaker to me
I only use it to share texts in team environment (college group projects, work, etc)
If it’s the sort of thing that conceptually can be run on a raspberry pi and use less than 1% of that little CPU, it’s not something I want to pay every month for.
OOT, is Raspi really capable of self-hosting, and is running things like this really that lightweight?
TIL about Livesync, interesting plugin!
Maybe one day when I have my own server and finally able to self-host something, I will use that.
Let me introduce you to my note-taking setup.
That’s it. You always own your own files, and there’s no more worry about cloud services going down
You cannot follow anyone, they cannot follow you. All communication, including API requests, are blocked.
WOW. That’s really really bad. And I doubt it’s going to be easy convincing artists to move to other instances.
Can you share the name of the Mastodon instance?
mastodon[dot]art
Based on the “Moderated Servers” section, it looks like their reasoning is “Not moderating far right content”
This is insane, because I literally never seen any remotely negative post in kbin.social, let alone far-right content
Doesn’t need to be WordPress btw. For example, I made my blog using Jekyll with my own theme. Probably way more cheaper as it’s only a static site, no need for database, only bunch of markdown files.
The way they handle made me sick. Reddit will never be the same again for me.
