I only use Facebook for local community info as I can’t get that anywhere else. My fake profile works wonderful for that.

I have been trying to work on my attention span ever since quitting Reddit. There’s this great book I’m reading, it has everything in it that I love, I would have been pulled in if this was 20 years ago (yeah, I’m old). But I find I can only handle about 5 minutes or so before I feel that urge for “fresh” information. It sucks!

That is just mind blowing!

It’s very much a nerd/geek environment at the moment. There isn’t much for normies to look at…yet.

I left because of how they treated third party apps devs, Reddit mods, and users. Total disregard and disrespect. Which left me feeling the same.

There is a super active niche subreddit that I miss terribly. There is a Lemmy alternative with 3 subscribers only and a post every 5 days or so. I would love to see it active but me posting there feels the same as just screaming into the void. I know that to grow it I need to be active on it but if I’m the only one there then what is the point? I also don’t want to go to the subreddit and say “hey, check out Lemmy” cause it feels I’ll be sending them to a graveyard for that particular topic.

I remember when all these games were just coming out and the hype surrounding them. My favourite was always Minsc and his hamster companion Boo from BG1.

It’s almost vintage at this stage

Instead we get the same old videos we’ve already seen in our feed. I’m so tired of fighting the system…

I had Reddit withdrawal symptoms for maybe the first 2 weeks, but now I’m hooked on Lemmy and it feels great!

I’ll keep Gmail for any shit I might want to sign up for and use ProtonMail as my serious email account.

Interesting. I’ve never had any Covid symptoms and am from Europe originally.

These days I often just skip the first 2 pages and go straight to page 3 for my search results to be able to find anything slightly resembling what I searched for.
