I thought I was going to have to sticky a “friendly reminder; no transphobia” post earlier. It was touch and go but I think it came down on the right side of the discussion/argument divide.
What was your report? Did you get ban-happy?!

Hey man, I just put it to a vote and the community (me) have decided to honour your sacrifice by making a new header/banner thing dedicated to you. Something real classy in MS paint maybe?
You have been permanently banned from !wimbledon@sh.itjust.works I bet you’re gutted… 😂
Goddammit, the only option is to ban myself from one of them…
I mod 3 very small communities (less than 800 subscribers total) but other than creating the communities and posting some content to get the ball rolling I haven’t actually done any modding. I’m not sure what there is to do. No one has tagged or messaged me, no ones reported anything… am I inactive, redundant or just a terrible mod?!
I tried to sign up just now but it’s US only. I don’t have a TV at all, I can’t afford one. I’d love this.
I don’t recall being particularly bored but I do recall taking a book absolutely everywhere with me. I can remember arguing with my parents because they’d only let me pack 7 hardback library books in my suitcase for a two week holiday when I was about 8!
I believe the tracker guy posts with a delay too, so by the time anyone sees it on threads, Elon will have already gone.
I made an account last to check it out but I created a new Instagram first so there’s no link to my name/real email etc. I assume that’s what most people will do if they want to be anonymous.
I’m similar to you, and would say I’ve quit. It’s the same with Facebook and Twitter. Occasionally someone will send me something from there or there’ll be something I can’t find anywhere else, but I don’t stick around to browse afterwards.
Memmy and Mlem I get (mobile lemmy). But wtf is wefwef about?!
Not op but I’ve got wefwef, Memmy and Mlem and Memmy is by far my favourite.
Good to know. I tried tonnes of Reddit apps before settling on blue sky and then Apollo so I imagine I’ll try pretty much everything that comes out for iOS before I settle on one. It’s an exciting time.
Have Memmy closed their beta testing sign up now? I’ve been testing Mlem and Memmy for a couple of weeks and wefwef for a few days. Memmy is streaks ahead of the other two right now. I can’t see myself choosing Mlem over Memmy ever. Wefwef has potential but has understandably been buggy as hell. I’m looking forward to Artemis but it’s invite only beta testing at the moment.
It’s legal. Before brexit it wasn’t uncommon to see French vehicles on British roads - most of Europe drive on the right after all.
Yeah, I’ve been testing both and Memmy is vastly superior to Mlem. The developer is putting out updates lightening fast too. I’m interested in trying out Artemis but that’s invite only testing rn.
They have 30 days I believe.
I was banned the first time I commented. I said a photo someone uploaded was lovely (not a top level comment). I got a 30 day ban immediately. I messaged back, apologising that I had missed that rule. The mod said “no arguing with the moderators” and then permabanned me. Wtf?!
Now do the mod of r/redditgetsdrawn. They’re so quick to ban it’s ridiculous!
You have to have an instagram account in order to have a threads account - it’s how you log in. I think whatever your Instagram handle is becomes your threads handle, or it’s saved for you.
I wanted to see what it was like so I created a new Instagram account (not linked to any of my real personal info) and then a new threads account. I had a look for a couple of days and decided it was dogshit so I deleted both. I suspect an awful lot of people did exactly that.
